Lightwing Outback Aircraft Picture Gallery
The photos and comments are intended to help you learn a lot more about the Lightwing Speed aircraft and their unique benefits.
Outback 2 - Two Place
The outside looks good. The plane flies great. And you are safe in one of the strongest built two place planes on the market. This plane qualifies for the FAA Light Sport Aircraft category. You can buy this plane factory built, ready to fly.
Composite Airframe
Using composites for the fuselage enhances the look and makes for a better airflow. But with the Speed aircraft, we have a steel cage underneath for greater resilience, and enhanced safety.
Gull Wing Doors
The gull wing doors make entry easier. But they also attach to the steel roof roll cage for extra safety. No bubble canopy with no protection, even from the sun, in this plane. A roof is better than a plastic bubble.
Molded Covered Interior
The SP2000 has an automotive quality interior which covers the steel airframe on the inside. It is much higher quality than most of the entry level two place competitors.
Leather Upholstered Panel
Leather covering with glass instrument avionics make the SP2000 three dimensional panel a cut above the competition.
Outback 2 Dimensions
Enlarge this to compare the cabin width in particular. This plane has one of the widest interiors in the LSA category. It also has a tall ceiling, and adjustable foot pedals. It is designed to handle the bigger, taller pilots.
Extra Features
Note there is ample luggage space behind the seats. Many of the other two place aircraft have a fuel tank behind the seats. The fuel tanks are in the wings on the SP2000.
